This little friend is knitted flat, starting with the feet. I used the intarsia method for colour changes. If you’re not familiar with this method, you can easily find an instruction online.
After legs, body and head we bind off and start on the arms and hands, then we knit a cute pointy hat. Now we sew up the hat, arms and body, leaving a hole for stuffing. Time for the first round of felting. There are so many good felting instructions online, I’ll only give a short description. When the first felting round is done, you attach strings of yarn on the inside of the hat and sew the hat onto the (temporarily stuffed) head. Then you felt for the second time. After drying your work in the tumble dryer, stuff it and close the back. Now we only need to make some eyes and a mouth and give the cheeks some color and your gnome is done!

Materials:
Yarn, knitting needles, tapestry needle, scissors, hot water, detergent/soap, kitchen gloves, waxed thread, doll cheek rouge, wool for stuffing.
