These hats are inspired by the Houses of Hogwarts from the Harry Potter books. There is also a House Unity version.

The brim is knit flat, with a glitter thread held together with the main yarn for the cables. The House Unity version has intarsia cables, also with glitter thread. The rest of the hat is knit in the round. The animals are duplicate-stitched on afterwards.

You need two skeins of Superwash Safir plus a small amount of Glitter and Cotton-Viscose for a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Slytherin hat. The Ravenclaw version uses Opera instead of Cotton-Viscose. The House Unity version requires two skeins of white Superwash Safir, plus small amounts of red, green, blue and yellow Superwash Safir or similar yarn, plus small amounts of gold, silver, copper and black glitter thread.
