Pattern Description

While going through her mother’s closet, Ellen’s six-year-old niece, Molly, unearthed a poncho that Ellen had made nearly twenty years ago. “I want a poncho too!” declared Molly the next time she saw Ellen. Ellen came to our store and told us that she had to make her niece a poncho but she hadn’t knit in ages. In fact, she thought that the poncho Molly found might have been her last project. We told her not to worry. “Ponchos are easy, and you can knit it on big needles so it will work up in a jiffy.” Ellen chose beautiful mohair in a hot color. She took a deep breath and decided to dive back into the world of knitting. Days later she returned triumphant. “I did it,” she said. “I started the other night, got into a great groove, and just couldn’t stop.” She looked around the store and happily asked, “So what’s my next project?”
