Howell the Owl Pocket Pal
Howell the Owl Pocket Pal is cuddly soft toy with a pocket to hold your treasures. It can easily be made in different sizes by varying your yarn weight and changing your needle size accordingly. I used a worsted weight for the full size owl and a sock weight yarn to make a super cute mini owlet. The pattern also includes directions to make the large owl into a cozy pouch big enough to fit a kindle or e-reader and the mini owlet into one that will fit a smart phone. As an added bonus, the pocket on the front is perfect for ear buds or a little cash for the coffee shop.
This pattern is for an intermediate knitter. You should be able to read a chart. It includes short rows for shaping the wings. You also should know how to make a stitch and decrease stitches.
