This is a convertible hat/cowl! Simple as could be, it is a cowl with a “draw string” at the mid-crown that, when cinched, converts it into a hat. Size is appropriate for a child or teen with the actual measurements being 19” around and 10” high. The “draw string” is a contrasting color I-Cord that is woven through eyelets in the main body. It’s simplicity as well as the speed with which it can be knitted makes it an excellent project for beginning knitters wishing to move beyond basic garter stitch. The project is knit in the round, is a good use for orphan balls and/or remnant yarn it is ideal for social knitting.
