Howling Wolf Afghan
HOWLING WOLF AFGHAN, #618: Capture these dramatic baying wolves as you crochet this one-of-a-kind afghan featuring Native American-Inspired themes. All color changes are made at the beginning of rows, so you are only working with one color at a time. Cleverly placed dropped dc stitches worked in front loop of stitch 2 rows below form the design. This technique is similar in results to Mosaic Knitting (sometimes called slip stitch knitting), except done in crochet.
Made using worsted weight yarn in 3 shades of blue with a pop of orange and forest green. Size approx. 45” x 59”. Intermediate skill.
See our website for a how-to video showing the easy dropped dc stitch that forms the design. It’s the stitch used for the classic Apache Tears and Navajo afghans from years ago.
