This 17th century embroidery motif is quite simple, but very pleasing. An alternating branch of leaves or seed pods and blossoms wends its way around the circumference of this cozy neck cowl. I called this Hrisa which is Old English for a twig or branch.

Height: 28 cm / 11 inches
Gauge – blocked
12 stitches and 11 Rows = 5 cm / 2 inches in lace stitch pattern on US 8 (5 mm) needles

Main Colour (MC) Cascade Yarns Cascade 220, 200 m / 100 g (220 yds / 3.5 oz), 1 ball. Colour 9430 Highland Green. Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
Contrast Colour (CC) Carter Stovell Perendale Super Wool Semi-Worsted 8 Ply 50 g (1.8 oz), 1 ball. Colour Pink Heather. Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
Needles - US 8 (5 mm) circular, 56cm /22” long, or size needed to obtain gauge
