Huakaya (pronounce wa-KA-ah) alpacas are prized for their amazingly soft and fluffy fleece. Alpaca fiber is smoother, warmer, and lighter than sheep’s wool, making for a truly luxurious garment. The fiber takes to dying remarkably well. This pullover was worked in four shades (two natural and two hand-dyed) of alpaca. The construction is top-down with short rows worked in to elevate the back neck. Classic fair isle patterns along the yoke, lower edging and sleeve cuffs are featured.
