The Hudson Highlands Baby Blanket has been revised (1/20/25) to include instructions for knitting both a chunky and worsted weight baby blanket that is fun, interesting and easy to knit.

It consists of a symmetric and concentric chevron rib pattern, with garter stitch edges on all sides.

It is knit in one piece, and is completely reversible.

Finished measurements are as follows
Chunky weight version - Approximately 24” x 30”
Worsted weight version - Approximately 26” x 32”

Finished size and yarn quantities may vary based on individual differences in knitting and blocking techniques.

The Chunky Weight version is knit at a gauge of 3.5 sts per inch.

Materials include 400 yds chunky weight yarn, size 10 circular needles (24-32” length), locking ring stitch markers, and a tapestry needle.

The Worsted Weight version is knit at a gauge of 4.5 sts per inch.

Materials include 600 yds worsted weight yarn, size 8 circular needles (24-32” length), locking ring stitch markers, and a tapestry needle.

Although the blanket is knit with textured stitches, gauge information is provided in stockinette stitch, for ease in substituting yarns, and/or determining appropriate sized needles.
Change needle size as necessary, to achieve correct gauge and/or a fabric that you like.

Required skills include casting on, knitting, purling, reading your stitches (this is just a fancy way of saying you should know the difference between knits and purls) and binding off.

Pattern is clearly written, and sure to be a favorite!
