The Hudson/Omi hat is a great pattern to use up scraps of yarn left from larger projects and can result in some very interesting color combinations. The colorwork is knitted using mosaic techniques so you never have to carry more than one yarn at a time. It is the easiest way to add colorwork to a project and if you’ve never done mosaic knitting this is a great pattern to learn (there isn’t even a chart to read).

The pattern works up quite quickly and is straightforward. If you know how to knit, purl and slip stitch you’re ready to tackle this pattern. The decreases are done via CDD - instructions for this double decrease is included in the pattern.

You’ll need a total of 200-250y of worsted weight yarn to make this hat. The pattern is written to fit an average adult head (22.5”), but can easily be adjusted as the pattern repeat is only 4 stitches.
