My designs are inspired by the Mendip Hills, where I live in Somerset. These socks also had a magical influence from the Harry Potter books in particular the Hufflepuff house . I knit these socks on circular needles using magic loop, but of course you can use DPNS, or short circulars if you prefer. I have used two size needles, as colorwork on socks tend to get too tight to slip over
the heel. When knitting the badgers, please keep your floats as loose as possible to avoid this.
Another colourwork tip , is to not pick up floats in the same place, this will avoid the coloured strands at the back , showing through at the front. I have used a pretty eye of partridge heel and a barn toe, but again you can use your favourite of each if you prefer. I have made these socks in one size only. However, if you are an experienced knitter, you could knit a smaller size with a cast on of 56, and include only three badgers, or a larger size with a cast on of 90 using five badgers. Please note that these sizes have not been tested, and the colourwork charts are multiples of 18 stitches. I hope you love knitting these sweet badger socks as much as I enjoyed designing them.

The specific yarn I used for the yellow is Country Mouse Yarns, 4ply “Colonel Mustard”
