At one stage in my healing journey I discovered that I was completely bound by so many outside expectations – I felt restricted by what other people though, how I should look and what I should have. These restrictions wrapped tightly around me and left me as a stressed, busy and anxious woman. I’d lost touch with the real me.
As I was intuitively designing this blanket I felt a sense of relief; I was being released from the complexity of my life and the restrictions that bound me. I ditched my crochet hook and I felt into the texture the yarn and the movements of my arms.
Arm crocheting my Release Blanket helped me to connect with what was truly important to me. It helped me to be free.
I’d love for you to experience this release too. Allow your hands and arms to move and set the intention to release. Sink into your body and let go of your restrictions.
The beauty of this pattern is its simplicity. Your arms and hands form the single crochet stitches, first working from right to left with your right hand as the hook and then working from left to right with your left hand as the hook. There is no need to turn your blanket at the end of the row, instead change arms and keep crocheting.
How big is it?
This pattern has 7 sizes from a 1m x 1m baby blanket to a 2.8m x 2.5m king sized bed blanket.
What do I need?
Homelea Hug extreme yarn, tape measure, scissors, felting kit (optional) and plenty of space to move.
What is included in the pattern?
– written instructions in UK and US terminologies
– crochet chart
– step by step photos
– full email support
I hope you enjoy crocheting your release blanket as much as I enjoyed designing it for you.
With love, Lynda.
