Hug me monkey will be approximately 7 inches/18cm when sitting and 18 inches/46cm overall in length.
Be creative, use your own colour scheme if you prefer, perhaps blue/white for a boy, pink/white for a girl – ideal for a baby shower, or just for the one you love, they can have Hug Me hanging around to remind them of just how much you care. The heart is added separately so you can leave this off if you wish.

The pattern is clearly written and easy to follow with no complicated stitches or shaping, but does involve colour changes on the body, although, you could do this all one colour if you prefer. There are lots of useful photo’s to help you along the way ensuring you get the finished toy just right.

White approximately 20gr
Scrap of black
Pair straight 3mm needles
Pair 10mm safety toy eyes
Fibrefill
Length 10mm ribbon (optional)
One inch of Velcro (optional)

Abbreviations used
Please read through these carefully as not all designer’s use the same methods.
K = knit
P = purl
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Ss = stockinet stitch (one row knit, next row purl and repeat)
k2tog/p2tog = knit/purl the next two stitches together (decreases one stitch)
Inc1 – knit into the front and the back of the next stitch (increases one stitch) Please note, if you use any other method than this, your stitch count may not work out.
The gauge is not important as long as you knit tight enough that the stuffing does not show through.
