I hope you enjoy making Hug the Love Bug! This darling little love bug stands about 3.5 inches tall using worsted weight yarn. It has a special heart-shaped pocket on the back so that you can add a special note!

I have made mine working in the back loops only (BLO).

On 2/1/16 a new version was uploaded. Original had errors on Rounds 19, 20 and 21. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Materials:

G crochet hook – or a hook size that will allow you to crochet a firm fabric without gaps

Sample made in worsted weight (Hobby Lobby Red and Grape, Vanna’s Choice Baby in Lullaby Pink) - approx 50 to 80 yards total to complete this pattern.

Tapestry Needle, Scissors, and Stitch marker

Craft eyes (suggested 12 mm), or yarn to embroider eyes

Skills needed:

Basic crochet skills
Slip Knot
Chaining
Single Crochet
Half Double Crochet
Double Crochet
Sewing on parts using yarn tails
Crocheting in the round (spiral)
