To celebrate the launch of the SBKM Amigurumi Club, the pattern for Hugh will be on sale for 50% off from now until March 17, 2019!

Hugh the Hibernian is an Irish fairy (more popularly known as leprechauns) and the first in my series of patterns for making wee folk. Perfect to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, springtime, or any time you’re looking to make a dapper little fella in a top hat. Also included in the pattern are instructions for making Hugh’s pot of gold, in case he feels inclined to hide one at the end of a rainbow.

Hibernian Hugh is 5 inches tall and would be a great pattern for a confident beginner to try.

Everyone who purchases a SBKM pattern can join the Facebook group associated with the SBKM Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/SmallButKindaMighty/). This group is for:

To complete this pattern, you’ll need:

DK weight yarn in green, orange, skin tone, black and yellow.
Size F (3.75mm) crochet hook
7.5mm black safety eyes
polyester stuffing
Tapestry needle

Hugh is made entirely of single crochets - his body and hat are worked in rounds and his beard is worked flat. The pot of gold is a little bit more fiddly - made wholly in the round in single crochet (aside from 4 bobble stitches) - but the top of the pot is worked using a combination of single crochet rounds in front loops, back loops and both loops.
