Huginn &Muninn mittens
This pattern is inspired by norse mythology and vikings.
Huginn and Muninn sitting in the top of the tree (Yggdrasil if you´d like),
watching and waiting for news to bring home to Odin.
If you look close enough you might see vikings rowing their long boats,
off to trade with other countries.
The mittens are knit in the round using double point needles. You can change the size of the mitten by using bigger or smaller needles, or adding a few rounds at the top of the mittens.
I´ve knitted the birds in the same colour as the rest, but if you like you can embroider them in another colour using duplicate stitch
Finished meassures of the mitten is: 18 cm width, 16 cm to the thumb and 13 cm from the thumb to the top. The thumb is 6 cm.
You will need:
2,0 mm double point needles
2 stitch markers (for the thumb)
Tapetsry needle to weave in the ends
White yarn 50 g (Main colour=MC)
Black yarn 50 g (Contrast colour =CC)
I used two ply wool yarn measuring 320 m/100 grams (sport)
Gauge: 32 stitches and 32 rows =10 x 10 cm
Hope you will like them!
