The Hug Mignon Vest was inspired by the image of a mother and father embracing their two children in a warm and loving hug. This top-down hooded vest worked by knitting the back and front pieces separately. The back is knit first with cable patterns only, without any colorwork. Then, stitches are picked up from the shoulders to work the front. Colorwork is incorporated into the cable pattern as the front neckline is shaped and joined. Stitches are picked up around the neckline to knit the hood, continuing the pattern and colorwork seamlessly from the front. The front and back pieces are joined with armhole bands, while the side bands remain open and secured with buttons, allowing for versatile styling.
