Huima is a half pi lace shawl with one ply laceweight wool. The shawl is soft and airy, like a breeze in the Finnish summer night.

Huima is knitted with the rare Kainuu grey wool produced at Rintalan tila biological farm in western Finland. For Huima, you just need one skein of this airy wool.

Huima is worked top down starting with an I-cord tab. The shawl is mostly in relaxing stockinette. It has two lace sections following the same lace pattern. Increases are made with an easy yarnover method. An I-cord is worked on the edges of the shawl while knitting, and the hem is also finished with a neat I-cord bind off.

Huima can be styled with summer dresses, but also keeps you warm on cooler days while wearing jeans and woollen coats.

Materials
Yarn: Rintalan tila 100% Kainuu grey one ply laceweight wool (700 m = 100g) in natural grey, 1 skein, a total of 690 m / 755 yards.

Alternative yarns
You can use any yarn, but this will affect the size of the shawl, your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: US4 (3,5mm) circular needle of 80 cm or longer.
Notions: Tapestry needle, optional row counter.

Gauge: 19 sts and 34 rows = 4x4 inches / 10 x 10 cm in garter st with US4 (3,5mm) needle, blocked.

Gauge is not important for this design. You can knit the shawl with a tighter or looser gauge or use another yarn and get a bigger or smaller shawl.

Huima on puolipyöreä pitsihuivi, joka on neulottu kertaamattomasta ohuesta pitsivahvuisesta langasta. Huivi on pehmeä ja ilmava, kuin henkäys suomalaisessa kesäillassa.

Huiman lankana on harvinainen Kainuunharmaan villa, joka on tuotettu länsisuomalaisella Rintalan tilalla luomuna. Huimaan tarvitset vain yhden vyyhdin lankaa.

Huima neulotaan ylhäältä alaspäin. Ensin tehdään putkineulosaloitus. Suurin osa huivista on rentouttavaa ainaoikein-neuletta. Huivissa on kaksi pitsineulososiota, joihin käytetään samaa pitsikaaviota. Lisäykset tehdään yksinkertaisesti langankierroilla. Reunoissa on putkineulokset, jotka neulotaan samaan aikaan huivin kanssa. Huivin alareuna viimeistellään siistillä putkineulospäättelyllä.

Huima sopii käytettäväksi kesämekkojen kanssa, mutta lämmittää viileämpinäkin päivinä farkkujen ja villakangastakin lisänä.

Vaihtoehtoiset langat
Voit käyttää mitä lankaa haluat, mutta tämä vaikuttaa neuleen kokoon, neuletiheyteen ja tarvittavan langan määrään.

Puikot: 3,5 mm pyöröpuikko, pituus 80 cm tai pitempi.
Tarvikkeet: Neula päättelyyn, tarvittaessa kerroslaskuri.

Tiheys: 19 s ja 34 krs = 10 x 10 cm ainaoikein-neuletta 3,5 mm puikoilla, kasteltuna ja pingotettuna.

Tiheys ei ole merkittävää tässä ohjeessa. Voit neuloa huivin tiukemmalla tai löysemmällä tiheydellä. Silloin tuloksena on pienempi tai suurempi huivi.
