This pattern is to make a knitted wild boar piglet to be used as a toy or decoration. When the piglets are very young, they are striped in shades of brown, like an English humbug sweet or candy, hence their nickname of Humbugs.

Knitted on 2.75 mm straight needles in 14 individual pieces, the seams help to give your humbug structure. The work is in stocking stitch. The knitting and sewing skills required are not extensive but there are many increases and decreases in this pattern that make the shaping of the animal that require attention to detail. This means the pattern is unsuitable for beginners unless they are very patient.
