Hummel Doddies is the Doric phrase for fingerless gloves or mittens, ideal for keeping your hands and wrists warm in the year-round brisk North Sea winds of the Aberdeenshire coast. These Hummel Doddies are knitted in the round using the circular magic loop technique and if using more than one colour, jogless stripes. Both mittens are worked the same – alternatively you could switch the colours for each mitten.

75 g DK yarn; sample uses Doulton Border Leicester DK;
C1 Doulton Blue 2 x 25g mini skeins (110 m /170 yards)
C2 Appleton Wiske 1 x 25g mini skeins (55m /85 yards)

Other materials: stitch markers, tapestry needle and waste yarn for holding stitches.
