This hat is knit from the bottom up in the round. There are two sizes, 19” and 22”. Due to the size of the motif, the difference is partially achieved through a different gauge.

Small: Gauge of 4.5 stitches per inch, size US 7 needles.
Approximate yardage needed MC 70 yards, CC 20 yards.

Large: Gauge of 5 stitches per inch, size US 6 needles.
Approximate yardage needed MC 90 yards, CC 30 yards.

The pattern features written instructions with a chart for the colorwork. Most of the floats are 5 stitches or less, but there is one row that requires a longer float. I recommend catching the float as demonstrated in this video.
