Hundreds of Hats
Constructed top down, this hat pattern allows gauge to be checked in progress to ensure a well fitted hat every time.
Nine different gauges, six different sizes, five different stitch patterns for the hat body, and a choice of five different brim textures, allow hundreds of different hats to be created from one easy to follow pattern.
Gauge: any between 4 and 8 stitches to the inch (calculations are provided in .5 stitch intervals). The various yarns listed reflect all the different possibilities this pattern provides. It’s also great for showing off hand spun yarns.
Sizes (to fit):
Baby (16”), infant (18”), child (20”), adult S (22”), adult M (23”), adult L (24”). Finished measurements for each gauge/size are included in the pattern.
Tools required:
Needles appropriate for the chosen yarn weight. The hat is worked in the round, so whichever type the knitter prefers (DPNs, long circulars, two circulars).
Crochet hook for provisional cast on.
6 stitch markers.
Darning or tapestry needle for sewing in ends.
