Traditional Icelandic wool sweater/pullover. Also available as a cardigan here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hundslappadrifa-...

The word Hundslappadrífa is one of many Icelandic words for snow. Hundslappadrífa specifically means the type of falling snow when the snowflakes are big and fluffy and glide from the sky in calm weather. The word literally means “dogspaw-snowflakes” referring to the size of the flakes being almost as big as dog’s paw.

The sweater is fitted but can also be made straight. Instructions for both versions are included in the pattern.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
The sizes are based on correct gauge/tension. You might have to adjust the needle size to gain the correct gauge.
Choose the size by measuring the chest width. Centimeter lengths for body and sleeves are for reference only and should be adjusted as needed.

Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to underarms. Then they are joined to work yoke in the round. The round begins at the left side of the body. On yoke, the round begins on the left side of the back at the joining of body and sleeves.
