Hungry Caterpillar Baby Cocoon and Hat
The cutest newborn photo prop ever!
You can knit the cocoon in four color knit and purl ridge striping (using two strands of worsted held together), or with just one strand of a bulky textured yarn like Lion Brand Homespun. You will receive BOTH cocoon patterns and the hat pattern.
Many thanks to knitter Adrienne and photographer Sarah Dennis for pictures of the pink hat version! Adrienne says: “I just wanted to say thanks for a great pattern! I admit that I was a little hesitant several months ago when my pregnant cousin requested that I make a “photo prop” for her second baby. She’d seen a few finished products but wasn’t quite sure what she wanted, and I was certain I’d fail to deliver precisely what she was looking for. Her begging and pleading worked (okay - it was really her flattery and “you’re so good at this stuff” that really got me), and I found myself searching out patterns, Your Hungry Caterpillar design was perfect (though she insisted that I “girly it up a bit”), and I’m pleased to report that she loved it when she opened it at the shower but is absolutely enamored of it now that her baby has arrived and been photographed in it. Truly - the pattern was a pleasure to knit, and the finished product is adorable.”
