Hunter Mitts are a fun fingerless mitt pattern, knitting up quickly as you watch the diagonal of the pattern stitches emerge.
The slipped stitch encases 3 stitches, with the effect of a nice amount of negative ease at the wrist. The pattern is written such that either mitt will fit either hand, so you can change up which side is front and back any time you like. Or if you really want to mix it up, you can even make both mitts the same!
One set of mitts uses approximately 38g of fingering weight yarn.
If you have petit hands, you may want to go down one needle size. Row adjustments can also be made to make them shorter.
This pattern is part of a set. To make the mitts and the forthcoming shawl, you will need 200g of yarn. If you are using hand dyed yarn to make the set, I recommend making one mitt from each skein so that the remaining yarn can be knit alternating skeins each pair of rows to avoid a distinct line where the skein of yarn changes.
This pattern was made in collaboration with NNK Hand Dyed Yarns. Sample knit in Fields of Gold colourway.
