Hunter's Moon
Hunter’s Moon is a shawl worked from the bottom up, using 2 coordinating yarns. Beads have been incorporated into the border design, but the detail is equally lovely without. A motif at the center back provides interest and a graceful curve to the edging of the shawl. The cast on is long, but rows get shorter & shorter as you get closer to the finished piece.
Two versions of the shawl are included:
Worked in fingering weight, the smaller shawl used 1 skein of Periwinkle Sheep sock yarn, along with 1/2 skein (200yds) of Malabrigo sock.
The larger shawl, worked in lace weight, used 3/4 skein Juniper Moon Findley (550 yds), and 1/2 skein Cascade Alpaca Lace (220 yds.)
If using beads, you will need approx. 400 - 425 size 6/0 beads.
A huge thank you to Helena for test knitting. Your suggestions & perspectives were immensely helpful!
