Hurdle Socks
The Hurdle Socks are a vanilla sock lover’s perfect middle ground. With just enough patterning to be not ‘boring’, this simple pattern repeat can easily be knit while watching a movie, or whenever you have a few minutes to spare. The texture is easy, quick, addictive, and sure to have a pair of socks flying off your needles in no time!
Pattern Includes:
-Foot/Shoe chart measurements for ease in determining size.
-My Short Cut Heel instructions, a heel construction that requires NO SHORT ROWS!
-Pattern is written for magic loop, but can easily be adapted for other in the round knitting methods.
-Pattern is written in 12 pt. Arial font, with no use of italics.
PATTERN NOTES:
Yarn- 50-100 grams of fingering weight yarn will be enough for any size. Sample was knit with one skein of Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek DK (100% acrylic; 478 yards per 100 grams) in the Ocean Waves colorway. (Though sample yarn is listed as a DK, in actuality it is a fingering weight yarn).
Needles- 32-40 inch circular needle for magic loop in size US 2 (2.75mm). Or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge- 32 stitches and 56 rounds over 4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Notions: Scissors, yarn needle
Sizes: There are 5 sizes in the pattern, and the differing instructions for each are written as 1 (2, 3, 4, 5). Each size will give you a foot circumference measuring 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) inches; 12.5 (15, 18, 20, 23) centimeters.
