This pattern is a result of the SKA June 2008 DYO challenge and in an attempt to make a really stretchy pair of socks for my father-in-law. The result is a very stretchy toe-up sock that is made for a man’s foot but could be easily adapted for a smaller foot by taking out the 2x2 ribbing on either side of the foot. The amount of stretch in the pattern make them ideal for a diabetic or someone with foot or lower leg problems. I called them Hurricane Socks because the stitch pattern I based them on was called SandWind, which immediately made me think of what beaches along South Florida’s coast must look like during a hurricane.

This pattern has not been test knit, so please feel free to message or pm me with any questions or problems.
