Hyacinth
A knitting pattern for a very realistic hyacinth, including an optional bulb that is around 16 cm (6.3”) tall. It’s a really fun way to decorate your home for spring.
Included in the pattern
- pdf with altogether 12 pages
- very detailed step by step written instructions
- tons of pictures and helpful tips included.
- Video tutorials for all knitting techniques are available (on my blog)
Difficulty:
Intermediate
These hyacinths are knit in the round on 2.00 mm needles.
The many tiny little flowers can be a bit fiddly but otherwise, the pattern features no overly complicated stitches or repeats.
Yarn and yardage:
While you can more or less ignore my gauge, I really recommend picking a good lace yarn (scraps are enough). Knitting these hyacinths with bigger needles and a heavier yarn will result in a much bigger (and larger than life) flower.
Skills required:
knit, purl, SSK, k2tog, K3tog, KLL & KRL increases (video tutorials available; though M1L & M1R works passably as well)
Additional materials:
- toy stuffing thin copper or jewelry
- wire (to support the leaves)
