Hydrophile Socks

I had a crazy desire for a delicate sock, with a simple lace featuring the yarns from the Bloom collection by Laines Péché Mignon! Mission accomplished with my new Hydrophile socks pattern. Evolutive lace knitted toe up, contrasting heel, stripes and little bobbles that make the knitting more rhythmic! The lace reminds me of the fluidity of water and that is why the pattern is call Hydrophile! A hydrophilic compound is polar and can therefore form hydrogen bonds with water.

Needles and notions

• Circular needles: 2.5 mm/US 1.5 for sizes small, 2.75 mm/US 2 for size medium or 3 mm/US 2.5 for size large
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:
-small: 30 sts x 44 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm stockinette in the round
-medium: 28 sts x 40 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm stockinette in the round
-large: 26 stitches X 36 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm stockinette in the round

Yarn

Fingering weight yarn; 1 main color and 1 contrasting color

• Main Color (MC): Laines Péché Mignon, 80% Merino SW/20% Nylon, 400m/100g, 50g (60g, 80g) – Rivière
• Contrasting Color (CC): Laines Péché Mignon, 80% Merino SW/20% Nylon, 400m/100g, 25 g (for all sizes) – Iris

Bas Hydrophile

J’avais une envie folle de bas délicats, avec une petite dentelle simple mettant en vedette les laines de la collection Bloom de Laines Péché Mignon! Mission accomplie avec mon nouveau patron de bas Hydrophile. Dentelle évolutive des orteils aux côtes, talon contrastant, rayures et petits bobbles qui rendent le tricot des plus rythmés! La dentelle me rappelle la fluidité de l’eau et c’est pourquoi le patron porte le nom Hydrophile! Un composé hydrophile est polaire et peut donc former des liaisons hydrogènes avec l’eau.

Aiguilles et matériel

• Aiguilles circulaires :2.5 mm/US 1.5 pour la grandeur small, 2.75 mm/US 2 pour la grandeur medium ou 3 mm/US 2.5 pour la grandeur large
• Aiguille à laine
