Hygge Hat was designed to be both super cozy to wear and a relaxing and meditative knit.

The hat is knit using DK weight yarn held double for a super cozy and squishy experience, both while knitting and wearing!

The Hygge cable is a combination of rhythmic 2 x 2 rib with a more engaging cable round twice in the repeat.

Two sizes are offered, and I’ve included both written and charted instructions.

Pairs well with a cozy nook for knitting in while enjoying a hot beverage. Enjoy!

Skills Required
German Twisted CO, working in the round, knit, purl, cable knitting, reading a chart (optional), decreasing.

Materials:
Sample yarn for One Colour Hat:
1 (2) x 100 g/246 yds (225 m), Fangirl Fibers, 100% Superwash Merino DK, in colour Crystal Shiver.

Approx. Yardage: 246 (305) yds/ 225 (279) m DK weight yarn held double for a single colour hat. Alternatively, you can use a chunky weight yarn and the yardage required would be 123 (153) yds/113 (140) m.

Sample yarn for Three Colour Hat:
3 x 100 g/246 yds (225 m), Fangirl Fibers, 100% Superwash Merino DK. One skein each of 3 different colours. C1: Winter’s Embrace, C2: Nocturne Violet, C3: Winterberry.

Approx. Yardage: C1: 103 (116) yds/ 96 (106) m, C2: 96 (109) yds/88 (99) m, C3: 72 (82)/66 (75) m DK weight yarn held double for the three colour hat. Alternatively, you can use a chunky weight yarn and the yardage required would be C1: 52 (58) yds/ 48 (53) m, C2: 48 (55) yds/44 (50) m, C3: 36 (41)/33 (38) m.

Yardage is an estimate and is impacted by knitter’s gauge, yarn used, and any modifications made by individual knitters.

Suggested Needles:
6 mm/US 10, 40 cm/16” long for working in the round;
6 mm/US 10, 80 cm/32” length needlees for magic loop OR 6 mm/US 10 double pointed needles for the crown decreases OR size needed to achieve gauge for the Hygge Cable;
Cable needle;
Darning needle

Gauge: 32 sts/24 rnds is 4”/10 cm, in Hygge Cable pattern, unstretched.
