“Hygge” is a Danish and Norwegian describes a cozy, content, and warm mood. Traditionally Hygge items are neutral colors and a vibe that makes you feel relaxed. I wanted this beanie to give the feeling of warmth, mountains, a cozy cabin, earth, as this is where I find my peace.

This beanie knits up quickly and is a great introduction to colorwork and reading a chart. After the brim is completed, the colorwork is very simply between two colors, and goes very fast.

SKILL LEVEL:

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate

SIZE:

Average adult - but provides number of stitches to decrease or increase size as needed for your desired measurements.

MATERIALS:

Yarn- Worsted (weight 4) in 181 yard skeins.
This pattern is written using 2 or 3 colors.
If using 3 colors plan on approximately 90 yards of each color, you will have enough leftover to knit another identical hat.
If using 2 colors, plan on using approximately 2/3 of your MC (MC and CC1 are the same color) and 1/3 of your CC2. You will have enough yarn to knit another hat in reverse colors.

Needles- Brim - Circular US 6 (4.0mm) 16”
Body - Circular US 7 (4.5mm) 16”
You may want to go up a needle size if you are a tight knitter.

Other Supplies- Scissors, tapestry needle, Stitch Marker

STITCH KNOWLEDGE NEEDED

Knit, Purl, M1 (increase stitch), Cast on, basic stranded color work/Knitting with 2 colors, basic colorwork chart reading, knitting in the round.
