Cozy, welcoming, comfortable. These words can help us understand hygge, the Danish and Norwegian feeling attached to certain aesthetics and textures. In this pattern, I have paired nice thick, cushiony yarn with a well-defined stitch and hope it brings you warm feelings. For yarn choice, I love Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, Re-Spun Thick & Quick, or a Super Bulky cotton or cotton blend. You could even use macrame cord. Whatever it is, make sure it’s machine washable if you are planning to use it around food and drinks.

Skill level: Easy
