Hygge Toque
A simple pattern becomes a classic when knit using a cozy alpaca/merino wool blend yarn! It may look challenging for a beginner but, if you know how to make knit and purl stitches, you can knit this toque! You’ll even find links to 3 Knit Pickers PEI YouTube videos to help you along.
This pattern includes sizing for infants (appx 6 -9 months), children, and adult small, medium and large.
The 1x1 rib is knit on a 4.5 mm/US 7 needle; the seed stitch is knit on a 5 mm/US 8 needle. Gauge is 20 stitches and 20 rows to a 10 cm (4”) square knit in a 1x1 rib using a 4.5 mm/US 7 needle.
You will need two 100 g (3.5 oz) skeins with approximately 206 m (225 yards) of DK or light worsted weight wool for an adult hat. This pattern includes sizing for infant, child, and adult small, medium and large. The adult medium sized hat required approximately 274 m (300 yards) of yarn.
