Whenever I think of designing winter things, the cables pattern is the first thing that comes to my mind. One of my friend recently shared a beautiful word complete with its definition on Facebook. That word is called “Hyggelig” which is a Danish & Norwegian word.

Hyggelig simply means taking pleasure from the presence of gentle, comforting and soothing things; a feeling of friendship, warmth, peace and contentment in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere.

Incidentally, I was writing the pattern for this cowl right at that time and the name, ‘Hyggelig’ fit this piece perfectly. I designed this cowl keeping in mind the comfort that warm clothing brings for people staying in the cold climate.

This cozy cowl has an interesting and thick twisted braid pattern on one side which makes it perfect for keeping a person warm. It is a reversible cowl and the other side of the cowl looks like water running through layered rocks.

The texture is interesting on both sides of the cowl making it not just a fashionable piece of accessory but a practical one as well.
