“Hytop Hat” is a fair isle design with a traditional vibe. It features a rotation of four colors used equally in four hats. The nature of moving the colors around in each hat shows how your eye can be drawn to a dominant color. Each hat takes on a different personality depending on color placement. They are alike yet different. It’s always surprising to see what color placement reveals.

The hats pictured here are knitted with The Plucky Knitter, Terra DK. It’s a wonderful base for stranded color work, and in addition, the generous yardages allow for multiple hats with coordinating pom poms.

This pattern is written with the intention to rotate the placement of yarns such that 4 hats can be knitted using the same four colors.

The total yardage (without pom pom) for one hat is 193yds/ 176m.

A medium sized pom pom requires approximately 64yds/ 58m.
Clover Pom Pom maker was used here (no. 3126). The smaller size from this set of pom pom makers was used.
