I called him Da
My first memory of the man I called Da was at the races.
He designed high performance race cars and I was his shadow. He was a big man , not just in stature but in heart. Da was the man who would stop on the road and move the turtle so no one would hit it. He taught me my love for air crafts, my love of nature but most of all my love of self. This was the man who sent posies anonymously to his daughters in their awkward teenage years, so they would feel special. He was a man who did not tolerate abuse be it of trust or person. I learned to dance on the top of his feet, I learned to fly sitting next to him in the cockpit, and I learned to love watching the way he loved our Mam. He told us never settle for the minimum always try for the maximum or you will have shorted your self in life. He went by many names but I called him Da.
