This is the pattern for a crocheted quiet book for learning how to count to 9. It has pictures with vivid colours (of your choice of course) where the child can search for items of different numbers.

Size
The finished size of this book will vary slightly depending on what yarn, hook size and gauge, but mine measures 13 x 16 cm (5 x 6 ¼ in).

Materials
• Yarn: I’ve used cotton 8/4 (sport/fine weight) that recommends a hook size 2.5-3.0 mm, but any 8/4 cotton yarn will do. Also, the colours I’ve used are just a guide, and you are of course free to choose whichever colours you like.
I recommend using cotton yarn. It sheds less fibre than other fibres, it is machine washable, and it is durable.
• Hook: 2.5 mm or size suiting your yarn.
• Tapestry needle, scissors, and a stitch marker for binding the pages together.

Gauge
My gauge is 28 sc/ 10 cm (4 in), however, gauge is not too important as long as you keep your stitches even.
