This hat is surprisingly quick and easy to make, and gives a knit-look even though it is crocheted. The only special stitch needed is the half-double crochet in the third loop. This pattern is labeled as intermediate, but is readily accessible to the adventurous beginner after watching the half-double crochet in the third loop tutorial.

100 grams of worsted weight yarn (about 218 yards).
H Hook (5.0mm)
Stitch marker

Yarn Needle

Gauge: Guage is not particularly important for this project. The pattern given below is for an adult head, with adjustments in the pattern for a child size also listed.
