This idea came in a way to utilize laceweight yarn to create larger yarn - chainette or I-cord yarn in superbulky weight - to create quick last minute gifts!

Circumference at brim 17.75″ (flat, unstretched)

Freia Fine Handpaints Merino Lace (100% merino, 712 yds/651m per 75g/2.65 oz)
1 cake in color Mist, made into I-cord (see Notes)
Needles and notions
US#15 (10mm) 16″ circular or dpns
US#17 (for body of the hat) 16″ circular and dpns
Crochet hook size J (6mm)
2 different stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Gauge
9 sts and 14 rows = 4″ on larger needle, measured when dry after washing and blocking
(The yarn is also very stretchy when knit on big needles)
