I Hate Cables Cardigan
Introducing the first design in the I Hate Cables series.
This cardigan features simple cable stitches only in the center, and these cable stitches all cross in the same direction. I dislike creating cable stitches, but I covered them with bubble stitches, afraid that others might notice. As a result, it turned out to be very charming.
It has a rustic and lovely atmosphere, making it seem like something that would belong in a country girl’s wardrobe.
CONSTRUCTION
The cardigan is knitted from the bottom, the body is worked in the stitch pattern up until the underarm where the fronts and back panels are separated and worked up to the shoulders. When the body is completed, the sleeves are picked up along the armhole opening, then worked in the round to the cuff. Stitches for the button bands and the neckband are picked up and worked in 1x1 ribbing.
