I Love Jam Plain Jar
This is the time of year when thoughts turn to making jams and jellies. However, it had never occurred to me to design a jam jar cloth until I heard from Dinah who made the suggestion. There are two versions of this dishcloth, both a ‘garter stitch’ jar and a ‘fancy stitch’ one, both are included with this pattern. To do the plain version, a basic knowledge of casting on and off as well as knowing how to knit and purl are the only skills needed.
You will need one 50 gr ball of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn. The finished dimensions of this cloth are 9”W x 8 3/4”H.
For best results knitting ‘picture’ dishcloths, use a size or two smaller needle than you usually would for the given yarn, choose a solid colour yarn and block your finished dishcloth.
Many thanks to Dinah for her suggestion as well as for test knitting both the garter stitch version and the ‘fancy stitch’ version. Her help is very much appreciated.
