Make 6 of these and you will have your granny square purse. This clutch bag stitches up to a perfect size for carrying only the important items we ladies like to carry like your phone, your wallet and a couple of other necessary goodies.

If you don’t want to use it as a purse, this pattern can make a bag that holds just enough supplies to carry a small WIP project or any thing you wish to tote around.

You can make as many squares as necessary to create the size you want. I recommend 3 squares in each row by 2 rows yielding a size of 8.5” by 12.75”. Remember to multiply the number of squares in each row by the number of rows to get the total number of squares you will need to stitch up just one side of your purse. Then, multiply that number by 2 to get the grand total number of squares for both sides. For this size mentioned above, you’ll want to stitch a total of 12 squares ( six for each side).
