This pattern was originally for the Amazing Threads yarn store’s club (MN) and they are holding a give-way to celebrate their anniversary and the memory of their dear friend Yvonne.

There once was a knitter named Yvonne, who loved lace and inspired others to share her passion for yarny beauty. We’ve lost her, but we still remember her through her lovely knitting daughters, and friends who carry her memory in their hearts and knitting bags.

A couple of years ago, I designed a very lacy shawl: Flowers for Yvonne. I know she would have loved to knit it, but there were those who wanted a simpler version to remember her by. This is that pattern! It’s named for a picture of her that I’ll never forget. She was smiling and wearing her red hat with purple.
