I Shawl Wear my Armour
Please enjoy 40% off all of my patterns and e-books until 21 June 2023, no coupon code required!
This shawl is all about texture, and even though it’s full of holes, we must always wear our armor. I think it’s important to live life not being hurt and offended by every little thing, to be strong and safe, but leave a few holes for love, compassion and empathy.
This asymmetrical shawl is knit side to side and features a cabled edge, eyelets in stockinette, applied i-cord selvedge edges and an i-cord bind off. This pattern is completely adaptable to any weight of yarn, and any yardage. The main chart can be repeated as many times as your yardage will allow for. I love the idea of a completely flexible design and this is definitely it!
Size: Adjustible
Materials:
Yarn: Shown: Fibre Goddess Downie DK (17 Micron Merino, 280 yards/115 grams). 3 Skeins in White Way of Delight
Recommended:
2 skeins of fingering weight yarn or 3 skeins of DK/Worsted. This pattern can be knit with any weight and amount of yarn at any gauge, however yarn usage will vary.
Needles: #5 (4.5mm) circular needles (for DK). If using another weight of yarn, choose the needle size that gives you a fabric that you like.
Notions: cable needle, darning needle for grafting and weaving in ends, blocking pins/wires
Gauge: 20 stitches/4 inches in stockinette stitch (blocked). Gauge is not critical and will depend on the weight of yarn/needle size chosen.
Type of instruction: Written and charted
Skill Level: Intermediate (the pattern itself is not difficult however some ability to read your knitting is helpful to avoid mistakes)
