I Want to Knit a Scarf
The pattern has been revised to correct some errors. The download as of 1/30/2018 is correct.
When I began teaching Community Education classes I looked for a sample scarf to guide students through the basics: stitches and reading patterns. Even though there are several good samplers, I decided to create my own scarf to fit my class needs. The scarf begins with the garter stitch and the stockinette stitch. Each block adds to the skill set - adding beginning cables and lace. This builds confidence to take on future projects.
Since this pattern is used for instruction, I have included explanations for beginners. You will also note that the instructions are not consistent between the blocks. I have done this on purpose to introduce my students to different ways that instructions may be presented.
