Crochet ice skate bauble - UK Instructions
I hope you enjoy this pattern. If you have any questions, please contact me. This is my first pattern and I’m so excited to share it.
Use 3mm crochet hook, bodkins and dc yarn in cream, light grey, dark grey and green. (I used Stylecraft Bellissima Single Cream, Silver Lining, Smoked Pearl and Sugar Snap but any dk yarn would work).
For boot. Make 2. Use cream yarn,
Foundation: Chain 14, plus 2 chains to turn.
Row 1: In third chain from hook,1 htc then 1 htc in next 8 chain, 1 dc in next 5 chain. (14)
Row 2: 1 chain to turn, 1 dc in next 5 stitches, 1htc in next 9 stitches. (14)
Row 3: 1 chain to turn, dc in 2nd stitch from hook, then 1 dc in next 12 stitches. (13)
Row 4: 1 chain to turn, 1 dc in next 8 stitches, dctog over next 2 stitches. (9)
Row 5: 1 chain to turn, dctog over next two stitches, 1 dc in next 7 stitches. (8)
Row 6: 1. chain to turn, 1 dc in next 6 stitches, dctog over next 2 stitches. (7)
Row 7: 1 chain to turn, dctog over next two stitches, 1 dc in next 5 stitches. (6)
Row 8: 1 chain to turn, 1 dc in next 4 stitches, dctog over next two stitches. (5)
Row 9: 1 chain to turn, dctog over next two stitches, 1 dc in next 3 stitches. (4)
Row 10 to 12: 1 chain to turn, dc in next 4 stitches. (4) Fasten off.
Sew both sides together using the same yarn and stuff lightly.
For sole and heel. Use dark grey and turn boot upside down to work.
- Join yarn with dc at the toe of the boot. 1 dc in each stitch. In order to give the sole a solid appearance, I dc’ed into the joining stitches rather than the foundation chains. (14)
- 1 chain to turn, 1 dc in next 5 stitches. (5) Fasten off, weaving in ends through the double crochet on the first row so that the sole feels more solid.
For blade, use light grey yarn and continue working with boot upturned.
- Use dc to join where sole meets boot, chain 2, treble into same stitch, chain 3, treble into 2nd stitch from the treble, chain 10, htr into centre stitch of heel, chain 2 plus 1 chain to turn.
- 1 dc in next 15 chain/stitch until first tr, then slip stitch into first tr. Fasten off.
Laces. Use green yarn and bodkin. (I found this works best using two bodkins.)
Cut approx. 60 cm yarn and thread a bodkin on either side. Start on 2nd stitch from tow and push bodkins through the crochet in the same way as you would lace a shoe. Tie bow at top and trim ends.
Hanger.
1. Attach green yarn using dc to top corner of boot, chain 30 and reattach yarn using dc into same stitch. Fasten off.
