The adult version of this pattern was published as Ice Slide Hat - 2 Ways. I made a bulky version for my daughter and a worsted weight version for my daughter-in-law. My 2 year old granddaughter loved the “sparkles hat”and wanted one “just like Mommy’s.” I modified the original pattern to change the scale and made a couple of design changes to make it work in a finer yarn.

The hat is knitted in the round. It includes simple slip stitches and is easy to knit. The pattern forms a “ladder” into which you can nestle crystals, beads, or whatever you can think of that will please your Mini-Me!

The pattern is designed to fit a toddler head size of about 18.5 to 21 inches. The model in the photo has a head size of 20 inches. The pattern can easily be adapted to increase or decrease the size.
