Ice Storm: Snug Cowl
You can also find this pattern in my new ebook Sun & Ice, which brings together 12 little accessories patterns for adults, kids and home.
This is one of 3 cowls that show-off a graphic stitch pattern in 3 beautiful ways. This version is a quick knit for both men and women - a true unisex design. It’s a stylish gift or a wardrobe staple to keep.
With it’s broad appeal, it’s a great go-to pattern when you can’t think what to make for someone. There’s no problem with it not fitting - unlike with mitts or a hat. There’s not the knitting investment of time and money involved in a scarf which the recipient might not love. So, make them this, in their favourite colour or a classic neutral.
Choose a yarn with great stitch definition and in a solid colour. Work slightly looser than ball band tension for a soft fabric.
The group of cowl patterns for men, women & kids are not available separately because you are getting all 3 versions together in the Ice Storm: Cowls ebook for the price of one of my regular cowl patterns - I like my customers to feel they are getting great value. You can also buy the cowls together with the matching mitts in the ebook Ice Storms.
Worked in the round, the pattern information is both charted AND given in written instructions.
This is the easiest piece to try working in the round for the first time on circular needles - it fits neatly onto 60cm circulars and is a comfortable size to work. For intermediate knitters, the developing stitch pattern will keep you interested.
