SCARF, HAT AND GLOVES ICELAND

The inspiration for this set is the Icelandic wool that I use and many Icelandic patterns I’ve seen and I find so beautiful. Beautiful soft greyish natural shades and the softness and warmth of this wool and using this wonderful wool inspires me even more. I have therefore chosen for this blue and grey tones and a pattern inspired by the Yokes that are present on the original jerseys. Because this is a scarf, and you see both sides while wearing this scarf, this is a double knit. The hat is also a double knit. Original it is designed for men but it can be adapted to a woman size. This is added in the pattern description.

Approximately 600 grams of wool for knitting needle 4.5mm. Minimal divided into two colours. Since I’ve used four colours, you do need a little more wool and have a bit left over. I use Lopi wool from Iceland, particularly because of its beautiful natural colours, the softness and warmth but also because it is affordable. For the set, you will need:

250-gram white, 5 strands 0051
450 grams’ colour and so 150 grams or three strands per colour:
• 9419 Ocean blue
• 9418 Stone Heather
• 0005 Heather Black
1 circular needle size 4.5 mm with length 60 cm
1 set of double pointed needles or sock needles size 4.5mm

SJAAL, MUTS EN SCHOENEN IJSLAND

De inspiratie voor deze set is de IJslandse wol die ik gebruik en de vele IJslandse patronen die ik heb gezien en die ik zo mooi vind. De mooie zachte vergrijsde natuurlijke tinten en de zachtheid en warmte van deze geweldige wol die hiervoor wordt gebruikt inspireert nog meer. Ik heb daarom ook gekozen voor deze blauw en grijze tinten en het patronen geïnspireerd op de Yokes die op de originele truien aanwezig zijn. Omdat dit een sjaal is, en je beide zijden ziet bij het dragen, heb ik de sjaal dubbel gebreid. De muts is ook dubbel gebreid. Origineel ontworpen als patroon voor mannen maar ook aan te passen voor vrouwen. Dit is opgenomen in het patroon.

Omdat ik 4 kleuren heb gebruikt heb je iets meer wol nodig en hou je dus ook iets over. Ik heb zoals gezegd Lettlopi wol uit IJsland gebruik, met name vanwege de mooie natuurlijke kleuren, de zachtheid en warmte maar ook omdat het redelijk betaalbaar is. Voor de set heb je nodig:
